Bluehost is a cost-effective and very well-known host for those starting a WordPress site. Performance and page speed may not be the best in the industry, but their hosting is at a much lower cost than the higher-end wordpress hosts. Siteground is a trusted host with competent and friendly support, they are very affordable, though don't always perform as well as higher-end managed wordpress hosts.
I personally prefer Siteground as a host, but they're both reasonably good to start with. Bluehost and Siteground are both very affordable hosts, though keep in mind that the plans for both of these hosts use introductory pricing and renew at a higher rate.
Let's get started!
Bluehost vs SiteGround (2024) – Which Host is Better?
Verdict - At a Glance
Bluehost's WordPress hosting offering is a reasonble option for those on a budget who are looking for an accessible place to start their site. It's very easy to use and they have pretty good support. While the performance of their hosting is not the best in the industry, they offer a lot of traffic for their price and their overall performance is adequate for those that can't afford high-end hosts. They offer lots of options on their wordpress hosting packages, including online shopping. They offer automatic installation, secure setup, and a free domain for the first year. They are a solid option to start with.
Siteground offers some very attractive introductory pricing across all of their plans, and their well priced 'GrowBig' package includes no website limit and quite a lot of features, though you'll need to move to a higher plan if you want to go above 20 GBs of disk space. But keep in mind that their renewal pricing is quite a lot more expensive than their introductory plans. If you have a very large amount of visitors on your site, then even their highest managed wordpress hosting plan might not be suitable to your needs, as it's suitable for up to 400,000 visitors, but they do offer other cloud hosting options that you can consider.
