Image Metadata Viewer & Remover Online

See common camera and GPS metadata in JPEG files. Re-encoding to PNG removes source metadata segments.

Data is processed on your device · No data is uploaded to our servers

Files stay in this browser. Maximum 20 files, 20 MB per file, 100 MB total, and 16 million decoded pixels per image.

Instructions

  1. Choose one image.
  2. Review the file details and supported EXIF fields.
  3. Download a re-encoded PNG when you want a metadata-free image copy.

Understanding your result

A missing GPS field means the viewer did not find a supported GPS value, rather than proving the image reveals no location. Inspect the displayed fields, then compare the clean PNG visually with the original. Re-encoding retains the picture while discarding source metadata segments.

What to do if you have a problem

If an expected field is absent, check whether the file is JPEG and whether that EXIF field is supported. The image can still contain location clues in visible signs or landmarks. Use Process images to create the copy and check the download before sharing it.

What to know before using the result

The viewer is not a complete forensic metadata inspector. Re-encoding removes source metadata but cannot remove visible text, faces, or location clues in the pixels.

Files and text are held in this page while you work. Downloads are saved through your browser. Reloading or closing the tab clears the working page; a downloaded copy remains in your device's download location.

Summary

Use the re-encoded PNG to remove source metadata segments while reviewing any information still visible in the picture.
