Understanding your result
A line beginning # becomes a heading, and a simple dash list becomes list items. The preview shows the supported subset. Links, images and raw HTML appear as text, so the result can differ from a full Markdown renderer on another site.
What to do if you have a problem
If formatting stays literal, compare it with Load example and check that its syntax is supported. Use Preview Markdown after editing. Download HTML for the rendered subset or Download Markdown for the source, then inspect the saved file in the place you plan to use it.
What to know before using the result
Maximum 100,000 characters. Original limited parser supports ATX headings, fenced code, unordered/ordered lists, quotes, emphasis and inline code. HTML, links, images, tables and nested Markdown are displayed as text; no remote resources or active HTML are rendered.
Files and text are held in this page while you work. Downloads are saved through your browser. Reloading or closing the tab clears the working page; a downloaded copy remains in your device's download location.
