URL Encoder & Decoder Online

Convert special characters using browser URL encoding functions.

Instructions

  1. Paste text, choose a component or complete URL, then encode or decode.
  2. Review the output and status message. Use the download button to save a copy.

Understanding your result

In component mode, a space becomes %20 and a literal ampersand becomes %26. Use that mode for one query value. Complete URL mode retains reserved separators, so the whole address keeps its structure. Encoding does not visit or verify an address.

What to do if you have a problem

If decoding fails, look for incomplete percent escapes or invalid UTF-8. A plus sign remains a plus sign here; it is not interpreted as a form space. Choose Scope to match whether your input is one value or an entire URL before clicking Encode or Decode.

What to know before using the result

Maximum 500,000 characters. Complete URL mode preserves reserved separators. Plus signs are literal, not form spaces. Malformed percent escapes and invalid UTF-8 are rejected.

Files and text are held in this page while you work. Downloads are saved through your browser. Reloading or closing the tab clears the working page; a downloaded copy remains in your device's download location.

Summary

Use the converted text in the URL scope you selected, with reserved separators handled accordingly.
